After this, people under 60 years of age are preferred who have been discharged from the military more than 5 years ago. Veterans recalled to active duty mostly work in the rank they were at the time of discharge.

Can Disabled Veterans be Recalled?

After the above criterion has been reached, disabled veterans can be recalled for active duty as well. Though they would get pay and allowance for the time they are on duty but they won’t receive Veterans Affairs (VA) Disability Compensation.
