Veterans who suffer from disabilities, either mentally or physically or both, are given vocational rehabilitation after they are discharged from their services. It is done to bring them back to a normal life. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) had officially started a program called Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) to aid these veterans in lifting the financial burden.
Who is Eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation?
Veterans who got a disability while serving or who already had a disability that got worse during their active duty are eligible for this program offered by VA. If a veteran was discharged for a dishonorable reason, he is not worth calling a veteran, let alone the eligibility for the program. Though apparently, the program offered by the VA is for veterans, certain active service members are also eligible for it. There are certain things that active service members must have to get vocational rehabilitation:- The member has a disability and at least is included in the 20% disability ratings.

- An active service member who has a severe disability and is just waiting for his discharge approval (other than dishonorable cause) is also eligible for the vocational rehabilitation.
